The beauty in this unique itinerary is the combination of sightseeing and straight out adventure all in one action packed afternoon. Starting in our Landcruiser’s and the capable hands of experienced local guides you will get very personalised tour to visit world famous areas like Skippers Canyon and Arrowtown followed by multiple river crossings up the Arrow River to experience a Lord of the Rings movie location and try your hand gold panning in hopes of taking home some gold.
We then take it up a level when you strap in and drive, or be passenger with the guide, our top of the range sports buggies around our exclusive off-road playground through the hills and forests overlooking Queenstown. These forest trails have been designed to thrill and reward with breath taking views only a lucky few get to sample.
This tour breakdown maybe reversed depending on the conditions especially during winter.

4×4 Tour Element: After you guide tackles the rugged Arrow River with multiple river crossings you have the option of a quick gold panning demo to try take your own gold home.
4X4 Tour Element: Visit and sample one of the worlds famous roads – the unique Skippers Canyon. You will sample the dramatic setting of the road that is carved into the side of hills and learn amazing stories how Queenstown earliest inhabitants tried to make their fortune
Buggy Tour Element: You would struggle to find a better play ground to test the amazing capabilities of our top of the range sports buggies- drive them or be driven- you decide!
Buggy Tour Element: Enjoy breath-taking views overlooking Queenstown, such viewpoints are exclusive to us and you will be one of the few that take in these stunning vantage points
Confirmed tours will depart from our shop in central Queenstown (61A Shotover Street) at 1:15pm.
Please check in at 1:05pm to complete the necessary paperwork.
Please be aware there is no parking available in front of our shop and so we recommend paying for parking in Man Street multi-story carpark located a two minute walk from our building.
Private charters can avail of a complimentary pick up service from any Queenstown central accommodation properties
A minimum of three pax are needed to confirm this combo tour. If you are booking as an individual, please contact us to check if there is a confirmed departure you could join.
These tours are kept very small and personalised- maximum 6 pax per departure. If you are looking to secure a larger private group charter we can accommodate up to 21 pax at one time for a private session (numbers would be restricted to 6 for those wishing to drive the buggies).
The minimum age as a passenger of this tour is just 4 years old.
Return transport from the Off Road shop, local experienced guide, top of the line Landcruisers and sports buggies. Wet weather gear provided if needed for buggies.
In general we do not have any restrictions apart from the minimum age for those looking to take part but if you would like to drive during the buggy section of this tour you will need:
We recommend dressing for the conditions in clothing you don’t mind if they get a bit dusty. Clients should bring any drinks and snacks within to suffice for the duration of the four hour tour. Full protective wet weather gear (rain jacket, rain pants and gumboots) can be supplied for the buggy element of the combo.
Bookings of two to seven pax are subject to a 48 hour cancellation policy. Private charters are subject to a seven day cancelation policy. No refunds will be issued for a reduction of paxs or cancelations within these timeframes. Moving the booking will not be possible within these timeframes.
